Auckland Networking Event

The insolvency of non-companies, including body corporates, partnerships, and incorporated societies.

Most of the businesses RITANZ members deal with are limited liability companies, but what happens when other types of organisation face financial difficulties? In this session, the Dentons insolvency team will run through the procedures applying to other entities and, drawing on recent experience, examine some of the complications that arise in these situations for insolvency practitioners and those advising them. The main focus of the session will be on body corporates under the Unit Titles Act, partnerships, and incorporated societies.

James McMillan is a Litigation partner at Dentons and leads the firm's restructuring and insolvency team. James is ranked by Chambers Asia Pacific, Legal 500 and IFLR1000 and regularly acts for banks, insolvency practitioners, trade creditors and directors.

Patrick Glennie is a Special Counsel at Dentons and specialises in restructuring and insolvency work alongside more general commercial litigation. Patrick moved to Dentons in 2019 having previously qualified and practised in Scotland.

Nicole Thompson is a Senior Associate at Dentons. Nicole works on general commercial disputes and insolvency matters. Nicole joined Dentons in early 2021, and previously worked in-house at a bank in the United Kingdom and at another national law firm in New Zealand.
